Onset School of Music is an upbeat, inspiring, and experienced network of music instructors/musicians. They offer a variety of summer programming, including:
Summer Sessions: The A Capella Experience - August 4-8, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. - Grades 8-12
This course will guide musicians through the art of arranging music using only their voices. Participants will delve into learning, improvisation, blending and breath control, tone and balance, dictation and articulation, and collaboration in songwriting and arrangement. The experience will culminate in a final performance for friends and family at the end of the week. Additionally, each group will create a group name and receive a professional group photo (signed by their peers) as a memento.
Musical Theater - July 28-August 2, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. - Incoming Grades 4-6
Step into the spotlight this summer at Onset Musical Theater Camp, an exciting opportunity for young performers to develop their skills in singing, acting, choreography, and ensemble work! Led by Kayleigh Bennett and Isabel Molettieri, experienced performers and passionate educators, this camp is designed to help students build confidence, refine their talents, and shine on stage. Campers will explore musical theater chorus work, acting and choreography, duet and small group performances, and conclude the week with a performance showcase for friends and family.
Summer Sessions - Various Weeks - Grades 4-High School (Depends on Week)
Onset Summer Sessions are perfect for the serious student ready to take their musicianship to the next level. We’ll get you there by getting to the fun stuff: playing music with other people! We will begin each day with an interactive session before we break into bands for rehearsal. All of our efforts will be geared towards a final performance for our friends + families.
