The annual Wakefield Festival by the Lake, put on by the WCNA along Lake Quannapowitt, is taking place Saturday, June 8.

This family-friendly event has been going on for over 30 years, featuring crafters, artists, local organizations, live music, and great food. All proceeds are used for town improvement projects and community events.

Arts & Crafts
A favorite attraction each year is the array of arts and crafts available. Every vendor goes through a jurying process to ensure a consistent quality and variety of products - all handmade by the artisans themselves.

Non-Profit Organizations
About 20 percent of the booths are sponsored by non-profit organizations willing to share their information and services with you. It’s a great way to learn more about Wakefield’s vibrant groups.

Regular participants include Friends of Beebe Library, who offer a very popular book “sale,” accepting donations for great books. There are also fun and informative displays by environmental groups, health organizations, and other local civic groups.

Children’s Activities
Children will not only enjoy spending time at the playground, but can also participate in special activities including face painting, games, and train rides. They can also see street art created on-the-spot by the Wakefield High Art Department.

Food
A variety of food is available for purchase, including burgers, healthy wraps, salads, watermelon, and dessert. Local vendors will also be on-site offering sausages, lemonade, fried dough, ice cream, and kettle corn.
