J.P. Licks, Boston’s most beloved local ice cream shop, is excited to introduce two boozy new flavors that are sure to warm up ice cream lovers this holiday season. Cherry Amaretto and Bourbon Praline are the newest flavor-packed ice cream offerings to hit J.P. Licks’ 17 store locations on Monday, November 16.
Cherry Amaretto introduces the flavors of the Italian liqueur in an ice cream combined with Montmorency red cherries that have been marinating in Amaretto for at least two days. J.P. Licks has created an Amaretto flavor in the past, but this new flavor brings in the rich maraschino flavors that are primarily derived from a nutty almond origination. The newest J.P. Licks bourbon ice cream, Bourbon Praline, combines the liquor flavored ice cream with crispy pralines. The bourbon liquor pairs perfectly with the flavors of pecan; bourbon and whiskey lovers will especially enjoy this new creation.
“We have a long history with liquor flavors,” shares J.P. Licks owner and founder, Vincent Petryk. “From our opening day, we started using alcohol in ice cream when it was not common for other ice cream makers. Our story of bringing alcohol into ice cream began with our Myers’s Rum Raisin flavor which used dark rum. Many of our customers would be surprised to know that our flavors contain actual alcohol, it is what keeps these flavors especially soft; we are not talking about artificial liquor flavors. We are excited to introduce Cherry Amaretto and Bourbon Praline to our customers this holiday season, we hope these fun flavors will warm-up the dessert table.”
Cherry Amaretto and Bourbon Praline will be available at J.P. Licks on Monday, November 16 and will run through the holiday season. Additional delicious holiday offerings will be announced soon – including the return of a fan favorite.
