A "Staycation" Review at the Hilton Boston/Woburn Hotel

Great Fun For Local and Traveling Families!

By Eileen Colleran, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Wakefield March 23, 2018

A few weeks ago I was invited by the Hilton Boston/Woburn Hotel to check out their newly renovated hotel. Recently, this hotel has had a $16 million renovation. It is absolutely stunning. When you walk in, you can immediately see the beautiful detail in the design of this building. I am a sucker for anything vintage and historical. The hotel was designed with vintage cobbler and tannery themes to reflect the area’s historic shoe and leather-making industries.

I was greeted by a happy guest service attendant who quickly checked me in with my excited children in tow. Because I am reviewing their “Staycation” package, we were given pool toys at check in which you would all receive as well with this package.

The elevator was probably my kids favorite part of the hotel. It is open and when you use it, you can see the entire hotel including a great view of the pool and the restaurant Matadora.

We got to our standard room and it is beautifully designed with a king size bed, a couch, desk and roomy bathroom. View from my window below plus all of the great amenities in the standard room.

Guest rooms feature Serenity Beds with comfy Serta mattresses, king rooms with glass walk-in showers pictured above, atrium-side rooms with balconies  overlooking the pool, 55” HDTVs, high-speed Wi-Fi, desk work areas like pictured above, single cup coffee maker with coffee and tea, full size safes and mini fridges.

Attached to our standard room was the suite and it was by far my favorite part of staying there. (Please note: the suite is not usually included in the Staycation package). There are two junior  suites available in the hotel.

That evening, we ordered room service for dinner then headed to the pool. My kids had so much fun in the heated pool. There is a bar that overlooks the pool which is a great feature for guests. Older kids could easily swim in the pool while parents have enjoy a cocktail at the bar. Balconies overlook the renovated pool as well and the entire atmosphere of the hotel gives a summer vibe even during this cold and snowy March. I almost forgot we were just in Woburn and not on a tropical,  warm vacation.

We ended our Staycation by enjoying a complimentary breakfast at the restaurant. Eggs, gluten free pancakes, fruit, oatmeal station, omelette station, bacon, eggs, sausage and cereal are served. The staff was attentive, kind, and great with my children. Pictured below are my kids with the bull sculpture at Matadora.
