Wakefield:

Spaulding Playground
Head of the Lake near the Common. This park has an area for smaller children and an area for older children. For me, this park can get very hectic and busy so I do not go here too often, but it does have a beautiful view of the lake and it is right in the center of town.

Col. Connely Playground- Toddler Playground (We call it "Dino Park")
Mamas can grab a coffee at Honey Dew Donuts or Gingerbread construction (as well as a snack for the kids) and head on over. My kids love this park! It does get super crowded in the afternoons,

JJ Round Park is located on Main street
This is a very small park but it is rumored to being updated soon.
JJ Round Park is known for the basketball courts.

Mapleway Playground is located off Oak Street
There is a playground as well as softball and soccer fields and a basketball court.

Moulton Playground
14 Harrington Court
Newly renovated playground with climbing structures for children of all ages. This playground includes a sandbox and the last time I was there, there were small cars and ride along toys for little ones to play on. Close by, there is also a baseball field, tennis and basketball Courts.

Nasella Playground is located on Water Street
There is a playground and close by is a baseball and soccer field.

Sullivan Playground
(My personal favorite since it is always less crowded than the ones around the Lake)
Salem Street

There is a small toddler area and an area for older kids and plenty of swings!
The baseball field and BMX bike track is located in back.

Elementary Schools with Playgrounds:
Dolbeare Elementary
Greenwood Elementary
Doyle School

A few things to do in the area outside:

Walking the Lake
After or during your three mile walk around the lake with your little ones, you can stop at two playgrounds along the Lake that are previously mentioned. There is one we call "Dino Park" across from Honey Dew Donuts right near the rotary and the bigger park for older children is right near the Common and the Church overlooking the Lake. You can always take them to the section where the Farmer's Market is usually located and have them burn some energy off there or of course the Common as well.

Breakheart Reservation
Breakheart Reservation is a 640-acre hardwood forest with two fresh-water lakes; and a section of the Saugus River. With rocky hills over 200 feet high, you can see Boston, southern New Hampshire and central Massachusetts. There is also a trail system, fishing in Silver and Pearce lakes, hiking the trails, and birdwatching by the Saugus River. There is also a  supervised swimming area at Pearce Lake. It is one of the few freshwater swimming spots north of Boston. There is also a playground located there as well.

Breakheart Reservation, located at Hemlock Road in Wakefield and is open year-round, dawn to dusk.
